Calderglen Harriers
As a mixed ability club, senior training is organised in packs to allow everyone to train at a suitable level. This also provides a means of progression where runners can start off in a slower pack and then, after a few months of training, may feel able to move up to the next, faster pack. Members register ahead of each training session using this form and are assigned a pack as listed here.

Our training is varied, consisting of a mixture of endurance, speed and strength sessions. We try to keep all types of session going throughout the year, only changing the emphasis depending on where we are in the season. Details of each training session are published on the Harriers Blog the evening before each session.

The main racing season is October to March where there is a focus on team events, road and cross-country relays.

Our home at East Kilbride Sports Club in Calderglen Country Park located on the edge of East Kilbride, provides the ideal starting point for a range of training routes and environments throughout the year. In the Winter months, we run in to East Kilbride where the miles and miles of street lit pavements with minimal road crossings provide a wide variety of routes and venues from flat streets for fast repetitions to hills of all severities for hill repetions and hilly routes over distances of a few miles to 10 miles plus. As the Winter is the cross-country season we have fortnightly cross-country sessions on the grass around the permiter of Brancumhall football pitches. In the Summer, the light nights allow us to venture in the opposite direction via the network of trails within Calderglen Country Park and out onto the miles of quiet country roads to and around Auldhouse.
